Guidance Notes for the Installation of QuickTime 2
If you already have QuickTime 2 installed on your Macintosh, you need not bother to continue reading this document.
If you are not sure, open your Extensions folder and look for a QuickTime extension. If you can't see one, then you probably don't have QuickTime installed at all. If you can see one, click on it once so that it hilites. Choose 'Get Info...' from under the File Menu and read the version number in the dialog box that will appear on screen. If the version number is less than 2.0, place the QuickTime extension and the Sound Manager extension in the Wastebasket and then continue with the installation process described here.
If you can see three files in the folder containing this document called 'QuickTime¬', 'QuickTime¬ PowerPlug', and 'Sound Manager', copy them to your System Folder. The Finder will put them where they are supposed to go.
If, on the other hand, you can see three files called 'qtime2.ext', 'qtimepp.ext', and 'sndmng.ext', copy them to your hard disc and rename them, respectively, 'QuickTime¬', 'QuickTime¬ PowerPlug', and 'Sound Manager'. Now copy them to your System Folder.
If you have just performed the installation procedure described in either of the two preceeding paragraphs, reboot your Macintosh before trying to run the 'Sources of Faith' demonstration.
